This might just be my interpretation of the song as a trans woman but I feel like this song could very much be about dealing with dysphoria in a relationship. The soft parts are the moments of pure happiness and gender euphoria while the dark, cold buzzing is representative of feeling out of place inside your own body and like your partner is disgusted by you.
