As a Frenchman, when I was living in Finland, I had a hard time making male friends, the women would often invite me for a tea/cookies session. It took some time for me to figure two things: Male Finns are afraid of our reputation and would not dare invite us home for fear we’d leave with their lady while the Finn women enjoyed a guy not having an issue talking fashion, or cooking, or doing the house chores. As for my Finnish girlfriend, she was adamant about me being romantic when really I was just being normal (house chores as said above, plus the occasional flower bouquet and stuff like that). Advice to Finn boys: learn a bit about preliminaries, you’ll thank me later.

I (a woman) live in Nordic country in Europe and here men are almost afraid even to look at you. I lives in Paris for a while and there I felt more admired and not like a grey mouse like here. What I liked is that men didn’t approach me in a “dirty” way, I still felt respected and free.

On rappelle que Paris est la ville des agressions gratuites et du viol, mais oui, les femmes étrangères se sentent en sécurité là bas ...https://image.noelshack.com/fichiers/2016/26/1467335935-jesus1.png

EDIT: when I was writing this I was only sharing my personal feelings and experiences. Didn’t realise that it could cause so much heated discussions. Funny how some people like to drag feminism anywhere where a woman is merely telling her story 🤷♀️ the point was the CULTURAL DIFFERENCES, I never mentioned anything about feminism, that’s your association. Have any of you ever been in Nordic country before?”
