Leur premier album était un peu trop... New Wave à mon goût. Mais à la sortie de "Sports" leur album de 1983, je me suis dis qu'ils avaient trouvé leur voie... Commercialement et artistiquement. Tout l'album a un son très épuré. Il y a un éclat qui montre leur grand professionnalisme. C'est ça qui donne aux chansons, la force des tubes ! Il a été comparé à Elvis Costello, mais je trouve que Huey est bien plus amer, et que son humour est bien plus cynique.

En 1987, Huey a sorti ce disque, "Fore!", son album le plus accompli depuis ses débuts. Et je trouve que le morceau le plus abouti, c'est Hip To Be Square. La chanson est tellement entraînante que je suis sûr que les gens n'écoutent pas les paroles, MAIS ILS DEVRAIENT ! Parce que, ça n'évoque pas que le plaisir des conformités, et l'importance des modes, c'est un texte qui parle aussi de l'élaboration du groupe dans son ensemble.
